Flabbergasted

June 30th, 2006

I received one of the biggest shocks of my life this afternoon after work. My mother sent me an email. I about had a heart attack. :-|

Apparently, she is back to selling Avon, and she is submitting the orders online. The internet is only ‘temporary’ she says. She warned me that she would not be checking her email often… so I tested her, haha. I replied… and I got a message back already! I think that internet addiction shall consume her shortly hereafter. :-)

It’s a Couple’s Activity Day tomorrow! The LotR and I are going to go swimming and then go see Superman. We’ll also look for a little exercise machine for the ZoeJane because she is getting a wee bit out-of-shape. *embarrasment*

Today after work, both the LotR and I had chiropractor appointments, then we came home and had a nice warm bath… after which, I promptly fell asleep in bed. I awoke to the smell of grilled steak… the fabulous LotR had outdone himself once again.

Wow! Independence Day is once more upon us. Fireworks!

Speaking of WoW, my highest level character is now a whopping level 29!

….. Now I can think of nothing more to say.

Quidam

June 26th, 2006

Upon realizing that it had been quite the length of time since her last update, ZoeJane decided to do something about the situation. Though the bills were piling on the table and the requisite homework glared accusingly at her from the corner of the neglected desk, she sat down to update the world of the doings of herself and her wonderful Lord of the Realm.

Attenhunt!

Hello Peoples of the World.

*aside note* (my homework is done for the night… don’t worry about my intellectual state)

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Work today was troublesome. It is the beginning of a payweek, so of course, to add to the duties of the busy payroll administrator, the company (or should I say the Managers of the company) decided to bring an entire circus of new hires (temps, no less) in to do their paperwork. Looking on the bright side, at least they are getting their paperwork done on the first day of work, instead of waiting a week and then realizing that if they want to get a check, then they need to report into HR.

Anyway. It worked out okay…. I was on hour behind all day, but just in my mind. I have my own set schedule for the payroll aside from the actual technical deadline for submittal. Yes, I am strange. Revel in it.

After work was the chiropractor…. OH! Did I mention that the LotR hurt himself while executing push-ups? I’ve no idea how anyone hurts themselves doing that, but he ended up walking around all weekend with his head on one shoulder. He’s been visiting my chiropractor… evidently, a few of his vertabrae are misaligned.

School is going okay… I’m finally finished with the MSWord section of the textbook - now it’s on to Excel! I love Excel… it’s so precise and wonderfully fun to work with.

Circus music is awesome.

Now I’m off to pay bills and make some dinner. Oh, and to all you silent readers, “I am watching you…MuAHAHAHAH…”

*sigh* I really need to start updating the Book Review page.

Updates:
School - going good! I don’t have a perfect grade, but it’s still an ‘A’… I just need to read the chapters before I do the assignments… grrr. Who woulda thunk it?

Work - ?!?!?! Our 70-something old owner decided to get married… to a 42-year old woman… and his wife just died in February! Hahaha…. Go Jack! Get those younger women while they’re still young. :)

WoW - My highest level yet! I just made it to level 25 tonight… I’m about halfway through that level already.

LotR - He is really enjoying being able to sleep in every morning… and work whenever he wants! Seems like he’s being productive, and that makes him happy, so I’m happy too.

Aspirations - ohboy. I have halfway decided to change my major again. Hey, it’ll only be the first time this year! Graphic designing… I am really ejoying working on the newsletter at work… how fun would it be to do that all the time? :D I’m not talking web design, but publication designs. Every company has things they need - postcards, journals, newsletters, catalogs… you name it. It would be fun.

Regrets - I have been duly scolded twice today by different people for not updating my journal here recently. I shall try to be more faithful. I also need to exercise more…my stretching ability is severely hampered at the moment by unused muscles. Hmmm… I should sleep more too. D’oh.

Health - The chiropractor says that I’m getting better. I suppose that is good news. I feel better - that is better news!

Things to Do - My dad asked me last week to burn him a couple of cd’s of ‘funny songs’. I have not done that yet. I need to send Ashley some music… she is requesting it. At least she has better taste than my dad, haha.

I also need to meet up with my aunt and cousins here in Phoenix sometime… they live only half an hour away, but I haven’t seen them since before Christmas. Double D’oh. I did send her an email though, asking if they were free this weekend… something always comes up with them. Hmmm.

There has been a strange cat loitering around the apartment complex. Since she has begged for food from us several times (and then promptly turned face and swatted us when we give it to her) we decided to name her. The LotR wanted ‘Sandy’, but I either think of a bushy dog from ‘Annie’ or of an old woman from Shoe Show that I used to work with, so that was out of the question. Kit Kat is the name! :)   (at least it’s not a video game name, or anything like ‘Charlotte the Harlot’)

I must sleep now. Goodbye,

Quietness

June 12th, 2006

Have you ever noticed how people suddenly become ‘dear’, or ‘beautiful’, or ‘lovely’ right after they die or are diagnosed with a terminal illness? That being said, my wonderful gay grandfather has prostate cancer and it has gotten into his bones. He’s always wanted to live to be 100, but it doesn’t look like he will. :( I haven’t seen him in about ten years, but I have very fond memories. However, since he is quite alive at the moment, I shall not give his memorial service.

My sister is pregnant… again. It’s good for her (she’s always wanted kids) but the timing could have been better.

I had a chiropractor appointment today - the last of my trial period. It looks like I have to go three times a week for four weeks, and then we’ll see how my spine is adjusting. I also have some exercises and posture things to do at home. I had awful pain after my last visit and I’m hoping that that doesn’t happen often. However, Dr. Kyan has said that it will be hard and painful at times.. and that I’ll get fatigued very easily since I’m using muscles and bones that haven’t moved in ages. It’s already hurting and it’s only been half and hour since the visit.

The LotR officially quit his job today. Going to work full-time on DataRealms - his own game company.

I shall go cook some dinner now…. beef stir-fry (yes, still on that stir-fry diet). Afterwards, homework is calling my name.

DataRealms

June 11th, 2006

Last night,  the LotR finally decided to make a move on his game D.I.R.T.. DataRealms will once again be a functioning company with an active Dirtmaster. :) (You can check out his game here.) This means that he will be working from home, and not working with any other employer. Imagine the jealousy I shall have to fight every morning as I get up to go to work and he gets to stay home. oh well. Such as it is, it is.

We went to CostCo last week and found a couple of Miyazaki dvd’s - Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, and Whisper of the Heart. We had bought Howl’s Moving Castle the week before. Hurray! The collection has been started. Last night we watched Whisper of the Heart, and that actually triggered the LotR to make his decision. I know this is something he has been wanting to do and talking about for a long time, so I’m glad he is finally taking that step.

Today is Sunday, and we are meeting with his dad, the Ruler of the Northern Realms, at the Wrigley Mansion to celebrate the LotR’s 24th birthday with a brunch. His birthday isn’t until next week, but the Ruler will have left town by then. It is now three past eleven, and we have to be there at 12. This means  that the LotR has to get his butt out of the computer room, into the shower, dressed, and into the car in less than half an hour. Think he can make it? The bets are starting at $5.

It’s so nice to receive regular mailings… I get literally two or three Victoria Secret catalogs a week. Can I count them as a penpal?

I was talking to the twins the other day…. they just finished up school for the summer, and they were complaining about being bored. When I asked them what they wanted, Heather said horses, and Valerie named… well, a LOT of different things. Thinking back on what I enjoyed at that age, I logged onto Amazon.com. There, I found a book of paperdolls (the same book that I had growing up, so I know it’s mother-approved) for Valerie, and a paint-by-number of a white stallion for Heather. This arrangement works quite well since Valerie is more the doll-girl, and Heather has the more artisitic ability of the two. Can’t wait until they get them. :)

I’ve yet to finish my tiger paint-by-number. WoW is consuming my free time. Eventually, though, I’ll need a break and will work on it then.

Next Saturday, we are planning a kick-off party for DataRealms with a movie/party night. I am hoping against all odds that V for Vendetta will be out on dvd by then. If not, then we will probably see a Miyazaki film.

The LotR now has 15 minutes to go, and he has yet to leave the computer room. Odds are up. The betting is increased to $10. Bidders?
