Ideas are elusive, slippery things. Best to keep a pad of
paper and a pencil at your bedside, so you can stab them
during the night before they get away.

The ‘REVIEWS’ tab is now totally different - and the books that are actually reviewed are set up with Amazon. I am working on a system for title searching, and also one for searching by author. Let me know what you think of the new format!!
I also did the unthinkable - I signed up for Google Ads. So, you may see some ads floating around on the website eventually. If they bother you too much, download AdMuncher or some other ad-eating program. We’ll see if this ‘ad’ thing is really worth all it is fluffed up to be. (yes, I know I need to get more actual content, and I know that ‘these things take time’.)
So, if anyone has any ideas for zoesjournal, let me know! I’m in a very motivated/working mood lately - I haven’t stopped to play any games in well over 24 hours!! (and planning to make that 36-48…)
I am so excited - I don’t think I’ve said anything here about my new project at work. Well, I have a new project at work. This is designing and compiling a company newsletter. I’ve already been doing the agent newsletter for several months - but this one is so much funner!
I was racking my brain all last week, trying to come up with a nice, catchy design to no avail. The only thing I could think of was a young, amateurish copy-cat of the other newsletter. So last night, I went to the LotR’s bookshelf and pulled down ‘Looking Good In Print‘ (he’s been trying to make me read this for months), and flipped through a few chapters while executing pilates.
The result? I went to work this morning totally energized from a mug of Swiss Mocha, and gaining inspiration from the rich, chocolately color of said beverage, I revamped my entire draft of the new newsletter. See Below: (all names - company and otherwise - are pixelated so as to be unreadable and butt-saving)
Now, in my last entry, I mentioned that I had a website idea. I am now happy to report that I have registered the domain for bartholininfo.com and bartholin.info. I have also purchased a nice template which I (or the LotR) will edit (it’s all religious) to make the domain into a fully functional website.
Since I have experienced the trauma of this female problem (many times over, I might add) and undergone surgery twice for the same thing, I feel that I am experienced and knowledgable enough to begin a community site where afflicted women can converge and share their stories. Therefore, my new website (once I get it up and running) will boast forums, a directory/map for ob-gyns, treatment education, and tips from the experiences of myself and others.
I shall count this as a fairly cheap computer course that can eventually earn back money through ads and affiliate sites (promoting items for care of women with bartholin cysts … ie: sitz baths, salts, antibiotics, and other things of feminine pharmaceutical needs). I’ve still got to get the Amazon affiliate site for this website up too - but first I have to write more reviews.
The LotR is complaining about how much work this is all going to be for him, so I am taking it upon myself to learn how to set up websites. He could have so many set up by now, but he gets the ideas and then doesn’t act on them because ‘they’ll be so much work’. He won’t be laughing anymore when my websites make more than he does.
Anyway, I am now off to mess around with my new sites, and hopefully not mess them up too bad.
UPDATE:
YIPPEEEE!!! I am now an affiliate of Amazon!!! I’m going to be working so late on my reviews page - getting every single book linked up. I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED!!!
It is said that when two people live together, their living costs are decreased. I’m not sure I believe this.
The LotR has been going over his finances, and the grocery bill came under close scrutiny. Now, I don’t eat alot the majority of the time. I don’t know about the LotR though. I don’t think he eats alot either, but his consumption of orange juice may fall under the label of addiction.
On Sunday, October15, we went to CostCo, and the LotR picked up two cases of orange juice. That equals four gallons. On Saturday, October 21, the last dregs were emptied into a glass and devoured. I think that four gallons in six days could well be called excessive. What do you think? No, the LotR did not drink it all, but he sure drank most of it! And still… We only go through a half-gallon of milk each week, if even that.
And cream cheese. We like it on bagels. The LotR spreads it on his crackers. He slathers it thickly onto his sandwiches. Yes, it’s good, but if you’re thinking of the grocery bill, you should be thinking moderation as well.
And whipped cream - I had to forcibly take it away from him after he started dipping his swedish cracker bread into it!! Something is going on with orange juice and creamy white foods.
My Daddy called me last night!! I’m pretty sure he only calls when he’s bored, and he can’t call anyone else because it’s like 2am where they live. Funny how he knows that I’m going to be up as late as 11pm every night… Anyway, I was happy because I had just been telling the LotR earlier that day how no one ever calls me - my phone bill is literally like $2 (aside from set monthly fees). So, he’s got his issues, and I got to hear all about them, which I did quite happily since I was just glad that he called. I hadn’t heard from anyone ‘back there’ for about a month.
I have figured out why girls are so confusing and strange. We already know that they’re filled with contradictions - doesn’t it make sense that girls themselves are confused by those contradictions and this makes them cry and say no-sense statements. It’s a weird and windy trail through a girl’s mind. This is a scary and dangerous subject, so I’m changing it.
So… I had this idea for a website (potential money-maker) today. I’m not going to say what is, for fear that I don’t do it. Suffice it to say that I should probably learn how to set up my own sites so I don’t have to bug the LotR to do it every time.
I started having a very appealing fantasy of showing up in North Carolina on Christmas day and surprising everyone. They (my aunt, uncle, and grandparents) wouldn’t have time to run away and hide from the fact that the LotR and I are ‘living in sin’, and would have to be polite and meet him! Especially as he would be bearing presents and wearing a Santa Claus suit. Okay, maybe not the last part.
I FINALLY found pickled herring at a grocery store!! I was losing hope for the good tastes of Arizona, but Safeway came to the rescue. This stuff is sooo good. (yes, I realize that it would probably make some of you puke)
I am currently engaging in a delightful conversation with my eldest cousin (who is 16) while indulging in too much spicy spaghetti.
The LotR and I met with the tempe crowd for a birthday deli lunch. We afterwards hung out, conversed, and ate delicious cake for two hours.
On the way home, we stopped to do the mandatory weekend grocery shopping, and forgot to get the one thing I was craving - roasted beef ramen noodles.
Upon putting the groceries away, the LotR went to his room to work, and I sat down to play some games. A few hours later, I decided to take a break and make my desk into something presentable to the outside world. here are the before:after pictures.
My li’l corner is so sweet.
Biology Mid-terms are coming up next week!! *panics* So much studying… Each assignment I have turned in this far has counted for 35, 60, 45 points. Well, the midterm is made up of three parts - and each part is worth 720 points. That so inexpressibly scary. There’s an essay too… though I don’t know what about. The good part is that I get 3 hours to complete the test - the bad part is that it’s not openbook or anything. The syllabus originally said it was a take-home exam, but when I emailed the instructor, she replied that it was an actual exam that I need to go to the testing center for. *sigh* No study guide either. High school spoiled me. I think I’ll be satisfied if I pass this course with a grade above 80. (standards are way lowered)
Speaking of high school, I was talking to the LotR on the way home today about something I used to do in 8th or 9th grade, and realized that it was like, almost a decade ago. I dislike remembering the inevitable fact that I am getting old. Wrinkles and arthritis are well on their way. But Spanish is going good! I have a nice, comfortable 96 in the class thus far. Granted, I’ve only gotten to lesson 3, which, if I wasn’t taking the leisure schedule, should have been finished in September.
This year has sped by. I’ve almost been at work for a year. (8 months is almost a year, right?) The LotR and I have been engaged - not dating, but engaged, for almost a year. I am going to be twenty-freaking-two years old in 5 months. The LotR and I took some more pictures of the kitties. Here they are - I’m not posting a separate entry for them this time.
I think that’s all I had in mind to write tonight. It’s an early-bed night for ZoeJane - work is tomorrow!! I intend to go to the gym more often this week (though not on Monday - too many people) as I’ve only gone twice or three times in the last two weeks. That could explain the fact that my belly feels like jelly (and the raised numbers on the scale).
It was there.
She was there,
A kite in the wind.
She called, beckoned.
Her sails were torn,
The beribboned tail
Was dragging the ground.
She called to me,
I answered her call.
And I came to her.
That kite in the wind.
I bathed her.
I tended her.
My arms held her tight.
I felt safe that night,
Dreamed of bright sunshine
And grassy-knolled hills.
Till morning light came
And my kite flew away.
Away to the night winds
My dark kite has flown.
