Back & Re-Arranged

April 28th, 2008

The vacation is over and the LotR and I are back home. It was good to see Kameo and Ico again… as well as sleep in our own bed instead of two cots pushed together.

So, let me tell you some news.

The LotR and I are in the works of ‘Family Planning’. (we have good reasons for this - if you need them, ask.)This creates a whole new set of issues. Since we’re already financially and (we think) emotionally ready for the task of raising a child, we moved on to the next issue - that is, a place for it. We have a spare bedroom, which was previously used for my treadmill, a bookshelf and a couch. The couch is still there, but last night we moved the treadmill into the living room (not the most attractive piece of furniture I would have liked for that room), and moved half of my computer desk (the corner portion) into the extra bedroom. I also moved the bookshelf and placed it in our own bedroom.

The extra room is now intended for a nursery/bedroom. To clarify, we’re NOT expecting yet.

Well, that was the big news of Spring ‘08.

Now, as I sit sipping my coffee, it’s 6:44 am and the LotR and I are sitting at the breakfast table. The pool guys are in the back yard, spraying the pebbletech onto the surface of the pool. Tomorrow they fill it, and the pool will be swimmable by Saturday or Sunday, if not too cold. We plan to have a final walkway finished this week, as well a topper for the backyard wall. The landscaper is also planned - he’ll plant some bushes in the back yard that will grow even taller than the wall for more privacy. I’ll take photos of it later!

The Hobbit

April 24th, 2008

I am stoked.

Not only is Peter Jackson back on the team for the making of The Hobbit, Guillermo del Toro was just added as director! Here is the news story…

Guillermo del Toro is a magnificent film director. He made Pan’s Labyrinth, which was nominated for 6 Oscars and won 3 awards. Peter Jackson wrote/produced/directed the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which won an astounding 17 Oscars.

I can barely wait for this movie to come out. Alas, no date is set - and apparently del Toro just moved to New Zealand for four years to work on this and its sequel. Hopefully it won’t take that long!

It’s as awesome as ever, as you can see, and it’s still only Sunday! We need to go through the photos from today - when they’re up, I’ll let you know!

Gee, it’s great to be on vacation - I haven’t looked at a single working clock since we got here late Friday night!

The LotR and I both got a little burnt already, too. Yay!
