Ideas are elusive, slippery things. Best to keep a pad of
paper and a pencil at your bedside, so you can stab them
during the night before they get away.

Frozen home-made chocolate chip cookies are the perfect appetizer, I am finding.
I feel good! Well, my brain is feeling good at least. My body hurts. Because the big muscled gym trainer with the tiny bald head showed me some new workouts a couple of days ago. For Free!
OH my ARMS! geez.
I went back to the gym today to try them again. They Work.
The LotR’s father is coming to visit this weekend, so I budgeted my time for this week in order to get my homework finished before then. My Biology lab that was due on Saturday? I finished it yesterday. hurray! I came home from work today feeling very accomplished about homework and work in general, only to remember that my Mythology homework is due tomorrow… good thing I watched the lecture last night. Guess I should read the book tonight during the commercial breaks in ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
I bought a new notebook at Target last week, thinking that I would use it for short facts and vocabulary for my classes. I haven’t even opened it yet. Except to smell the paper.
Tonight I should jot down some notes, I think.
The LotR is hammering up a mist-er system for our patio out back. The landscapers came earlier this week and planted some palms, bushes, and vine. It looks great! Makes me wish I could stay home more often during the day and enjoy it.
There was something else I was going to write about, but I don’t recall what it was.
hmmmm.
Oh, and I’m thinking about changing the theme of this blog. What do you think?
Last night I had one of the funnest nights I’ve had in a long time! One of my friends designated a ‘girl’s night out’. We met at her house, and when all nine girls were assembled, we waited until a decently late time (and a decently buzzed state of mind for some of us) before piling into a 5-passenger car and heading to Devil’s Martini. We hung out there for a bit, but it was still empty, so we took a cab to the Pussycat Lounge. Once there, we met up with a couple of other people who had a table and went dancing! It’s a good thing it was dark and crowded because I really can’t dance.
(this is before we left the house)
I must say, though, that it was fantastically fun to dance with other guys than the LotR. It’s great to see that marriage hasn’t made me less attractive to other guys. Of course, most of them who came to dance in my vicinity were dwarfs or at least not much taller than myself. *sigh*
So all nine of us girls just generally hung out and danced together - had an absolute blast. Sadly, my camera battery pack was low, so I barely got any photos. I got home around 3 AM.
I remember sometime this morning waking up, feeling my stomach, realizing I was near naked and going into a near-state of panic at the thought that I was lying sprawled naked on some club table. Then I realized that I was safely in bed. Whew.
I woke with a headache (not a hangover!) around 11am. The LotR was gone to Home Depot, so I luxuriated in a hot tub with a glass of water and an advil. The rest of the afternoon was spent playing Age of Empires with the LotR. Around 6, we went to Zen32 for a sushi dinner and then we went grocery shopping.
My homework has been waiting all day. Guess I should go do that.
It’s the middle of May, 102 degrees outside, and the pool thermometer is registering 88. I have a terrible cold that has been building for the past week with a discreet sore throat, which yesterday bloomed into a full-scale sinus stuff-up. This morning that was coupled with a huge headache, and, being barely able to breathe without wheezing horribly, I called in to work and slept the rest of the morning. When I woke around 11, my headache was mostly gone but the stuffiness continued. Sorry Sarah, but that gin and vitamin C didn’t seem to help.
I figured I was in decent enough shape to run an errand that I’ve been meaning to do for over a year - I went and got my license changed. Now it correctly identifies me with my married name, and has a brand-new, stuffed-up-head photo of me. Yay. Oh, and it no longer has that stupid ‘Under Age 21′ clause on it. Yay.
While at the DMV, I worked on my lab for Biology… got a good way into it, seeing how crowded the place was. My head was so stuffed up that I couldn’t hear the photo people calling my name. oh well. I got out about an hour after arriving. Which is pretty dang good for a large DMV like that.
The oven is heating for our first real meal of the day - a ham and fire-roasted pineapple pizza. And American Idol comes on tonight! The legendary David vs. David final heat. I hope David wins. David Cook, of course. I might even vote for the first time ever this season. We’ll see.
I am now going to see about finishing that Bio lab and getting a head start on next week’s assignments. Wish me luck.
