This morning I rather resignedly rolled out of bed to stumble upon the treadmill. After half a mile, I decided that I would rather swim laps than sweat on a rolling rubber track. So I did. By seven, I was in the shower, having walked, swam, and eaten breakfast. Work was decent… afterward, I went down the gym for my regular workout, and then drove on home. The LotR was away, so I sat myself down, did some homework, reviewed some stories on my favorite writer’s website, made some dinner, and now it’s time to do a bit of cleaning up.
This weekend is shaping up - on Wednesday, a couple that I don’t know and Dan has never met in real life are coming to visit for a few days. They’re from Britain, and in their 10th month of traveling the world. Apparently, the US is their last stop before going back home. But I digress. They’ll be staying with us until Friday, when we’ll all go up to Flagstaff for the weekend. Should be fun - I’m ready for some cooler weather! As long as it doesn’t hail on us like last time…
I think we’ll be good… just have to finish up my homework early this week - my final exam in Mythology is next week! hurray! then I can start yet *another* class. Or maybe I’ll take a couple of months off. Nah - I’d probably get bored. We’ll see.
I may have other projects in the works *winks*
Last night, the LotR and I went to see a friend perform with his band at Big Fish Pub in Tempe. The place didn’t look like much from the outside (it’s in a strip mall), but inside there were a few pool tables, a nice bar, tables, and booths. And of course, a stage for musicians. The bartender gal was really cute, I thought, and wore a pleated white skirt only 5 inches long. And then she bent over… woo!
We hung out there for about an hour. After the show, the LotR and I went off to Dave & Busters. I’d never been there before. It was fun - they had the basketball hoops and skee ball (again, which I’d never played). The LotR got his groove on with a shooting game called House of the Dead IV or something. Poor zombies never knew what hit them. Unfortunately, there were no fighting games or many arcade games at all, for that matter. Just those crazy ones with lots of gold coins, shooting games, and lots of Nascar and Dayton 500 games. Sigh. Oh well. The basketball and skee ball were enough for me.
We left around 12:00 and wandered into another place in the area which was kind of like a semi-outdoor club. There was some half-hearted dancing in the back, and a few drunk chicks hanging onto poles on the bartop. I guess they thought they were dancing, but really all they were doing was jiggling their boobs and making clumsy moves. And that’s NOT me being envious - that’s me having taken a pole-dancing class and seen some good action! The LotR didn’t mind watching though… The music was the best part - they were playing remixes of Bon Jovi and AC/DC. That’s all we got to hear before we got bored and left.
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, so you’ll just have to imagine it all.
