About ZoeJane

Hello and thanks for visiting my Realm.

Who I Am:
I am a twenty-three year old girl who loves works of fantasy — be they epics, short stories, poetry, or art. Writing and reading are my passion while hack-and-slash RPGs are among my favorite pastimes. I am married (no kids) and maintain a full time job. I take college courses at random; my goal is to graduate with a degree in creating writing before I get too old.

Here is where I write about the things that a married worker/student does.

  1. Touching letter to your grandfather and so forgiving. Go visit him as soon as you can and give him a big hug. He will not only know you love him, but he will feel it. The prejudice of your mother should no longer be a barrier. He is obviously a gentle person. I am appalled that a religion that preaches love of neighbor should prompt ignorance to be so cruel to family. I realise that you mother did what she thought was right, but ‘imprisonment’ of the mind and soul does not lead to salvation. It only enforces prejudice. That is why I left the Catholic church. Go hug your granddad, look him in the eyes and say ‘I love you’ and then give him a big hug. It will be cathartic for both. I know. I did it with my father (long story) and it changed my life. Go give him his hug. He deserves it.

  2. “I am now most firmly agnostic in my beliefs and hold a strong distaste towards any form of organized evangelical religion”

  3. a christmas tree is a traditional christmas item. I am not going to sacrifice pleasurable holiday traditions just because some people (namely Christians) choose to afix a religious meaning to it.

Also, Christmas trees never even started out as a religious item. This is just another way that religion has taken over secular places/meanings. For instance, take church hymns. They weren’t original. They were old bar songs that church’s changed the words in.

  4. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to put your thoughts to the keyboard. Despite my fear of sounding like a lunatic, I dare say that I enjoy reading your site nearly as much as any material I have laid eyes on. I’m especially enjoying the articles related to the ‘God Hypothesis’. I look forward to hearing more. Best wishes to you and LotR.

  5. Hi, good to have found you. You commented on my unfortunately now dead blog The Faith Hope recently. My new blog - much of which is still about religion - is called daily, illustrated (just google it and it comes up first). I must say your life story so far makes for startling reading, and I hesitate to say your mother was guilty of out and out child abuse, but your obvious resilience and good humour about it all is a testament to the human striving towards a balanced, healthful life. Good luck, good writing, and I look forward to reading more - but what is it about Americans and extreme religion do you think?

  6. So your blog is full of interesting things. Glad to read about you…your face is beautiful, so it was more than pleasant dwelling on your pix. Your boy is ok (the 54 year old man felt the sad emotions dad’s have when they drool over their daughters girlfriends while working to maintain decorum) jeez i am so pathetic…..lol

See you back at the cafe.
