Little White Geese
August 24th, 2006HELLPPP…. she’s babbling - again. I stayed up too late last night and had to practically drag myself into work by the hair of my head. I cuddled up in my sweater and turned the fan on, propped my feet up on the CPU, and mentally fell asleep while I started the daily routine. Then, in comes the sleek white goose, bright-eyed and talkative. Good Lord, how that lady has been talking all day. Sometimes I don’t even know if she’s talking to me, until I look up and see that bright inquisitive eye upon me. Then I guiltily hasten up and mutter the obligatory ‘oh really?’ or ‘wow’ as she again relates to me her adventures while watering the lawn, her concern over whether the rain will wash away her weed repellent, and her piqued curiosity over who it was that called her house at 5:25 this morning. I’m surprised my ears haven’t sprouted two legs and fled to Mexico.
There. I feel better now.
After work, I headed to the gym to play basketball. Not a good idea. The only things I’ve eaten all day were a glass of juice for breakfast, a quarter of a snack-sized bag of Chex, and an apple pie. You know, those little fruit-filled things you get for like 50 cents. At any rate, I had a good shooting night, then climbed back into the car after an hour and a half of playing. Stick shift is kind of hard to drive when your legs feel like jello.
Anyway, this ham fajita is DAMN good, and the LotR is bringing home sushi. I’m not sure how those will mix, but oh well. When you’re hungry, everything tastes good.
MRI tomorrow… not sure how I feel about that. I don’t even know how long it will take them to read the thing and let me know what’s going on. Don’t they do that while you’re there? Or do they call you later with the news? *shrugs* I just hope that there is something to find - otherwise there would be nothing to fix. At least I get to leave work early to make the appointment.
I read a 450-page book last night… from start to finish. I started at 6, finished at 1:30. That’s why I stayed up so late. Poor LotR. I didn’t pay him any attention at all.
I shall remedy that tonight. Or tomorrow. Or both.
