Enter Actor’s Theatre
November 11th, 2008About a year ago, I bought tickets for the LotR and I to see ‘The Magic Flute‘ by Mozart at the Phoenix Opera. Since that time, I have been getting regular promotions in the mail for all sorts of, ahem, cultural activities in town.
The latest piece received was from the Phoenix Actor’s Theater, which stages musicals depending on the season. Toward the middle of the brochure, I saw “The Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens. It’s playing from December 13th - December 24th.
I bought two tickets for December 20th - got some good seats too! I’m excited now - this will be my first actual ‘theatrical production’, and what better story for the season? Reviews have given it 5 out of 5 stars, calling it ‘the best local production that celebrates the holiday!’
In other news, it was just announced at work today that we are getting the entire day after Christmas off! Never mind that I have to work on Christmas Eve, that four-day weekend is just what’s needed to play with new toys and read new books! Well, in my case, I’ll probably actually be doing homework and cramming for the midterms that are due around that time.
Damnit. I was supposed to be taking these months off to work on my book. Oh well, it’s said that every writer should burn their first novel anyway.
