Zoe’s Journal

Zoe’s Journal
Ideas are elusive, slippery things. Best to keep a pad of
paper and a pencil at your bedside, so you can stab them
during the night before they get away.

Kingdom Come

June 30th, 2004

Look at you; you are so beautiful.
Bound by chains of slippery past.
Aloof, unconscious of your bonds
Waiting for that day, when at last,
The shackles release and you are free.
You will be so dangerous, fully awesome.
Burning with your passionate fire.
None will stand as you come.
Determination your shield, beauty your sword.
Passion your fire, and we all fall down.
But such a pity as now you are,
Rendered helpless by indecisiveness.
Lashing out at those who venture near,
Yet aloof you remain, gaze fixed on the sun,
Waiting for the day your kingdom comes.
